If you divide 13 into 365.25 you get 28.096. That extra not quite 1/10 of a day is accounted for by the Day Out of Time in the 13 Moon system. Here is a good link to explain the complexity with the number of days from full moon to full moon...it is technically 28 days 8 hours. I&#39;m not familar with the Hebrew calendar, but my limited understanding is that because it uses 12 lunar months it is actually 11 shorter than a solar year so there is a 13th month thrown when the difference gets close to 30 days to sync it up so that passover continues to coincide with spring. I guess that would affect when the beginning of the year would occur.
