happy new year!
Happy new year according to the 13 Moon Calendar! I spent the most amazing time in peaceburg (pittsburgh) this weekend meeting up with the 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace team and walking 2 different labyrinths in one day on the Day Out of Time. Amazingly, the second labyrinth was a Skywalker labyrinth and according to the Dreamspell calendar (a particular kind of 13 moon calendar) the day a was Red Overtone Skywalker...such synchronicities...wow! And that was how the whole weekend was. Lots of synchronicities, love, peace...a few miracles too!
I completed the calendar above right before the end of the year, and it will be available hopefully today or tomorrow in my etsy shop. Until then, my wall calendars featuring my photography are available there. You can also download my free calendar or better yet...visit rhythm of the home to make one with your children. Get one, make one and get into rhythm! Blessings and peace~ Elizabeth

we're back
so many different paths
were travelled on this leg
of the 13 moon walk 4 peace
much of our time was spent
navigating
vortexes of one kind or another
and without even being aware
of what was happening
climbing to new states
of consciousness
what is it about
climbing anyhow?
this boy feel in love with
climbing trees
this one in particular
tears were shed when
we had to say goodbye
to this tree friend
and we admired lots of trees
we had never seen before
the mountains were
ever present
and captivating
I never got tired of seeing
their shape outlining the horizon
I fell in love with
the desert
and being a water and mountain girl
it kind of took me
by surprise
Jude found immense freedom
in the desert
we made new friends
planted a peace garden
and played with some old friends
when I asked Jude what his favorite
part of being on the walk was
he replied without hestiation
"being with our friends"
peace

so wabi sabi 13 moon calendar
I have compiled a collection of my photographs into a wall calendar that is available for purchase. But it is not just your regular run-of-the-mill calendar. This is a 13 moon calendar. I chose to make a 13 moon calendar because I believe it is helpful to evaluate all the aspect of our lives and our world in terms of whether they serve us well. The 13 moon calendar system is based on solar and galactical cycles and uses the average 28 day lunar cycle as a way of measuring the time it takes our beautiful planet to travel around the sun. Because it is based on the natural rhythms of our planet, it is a much more harmonic way to measure time and using it will allow you to align with your own natural rhythms. It is a tool for raising human consciousness.
Each calendar is made up of 13 moon cards that include a photo that evoke wabi sabi, the Japanese aesthetic of beauty of what is, and what I like to think of as a feeling of connectedness and wholeness. The moons are made up 4 weeks that are each 7 days long. And the calendar includes the days of the moon with the corresponding date from the traditional Gregorian calendar written underneath in smaller print to help with the transition to using the 13 moon calendar system. The 13 moon calendar is perpetual with the year beginning on July 26th, but you can start using your calendar whenever you wish to bring more harmony and awareness to your life. Just find the current date according to the Gregorian calendar and start your 13 moon journey.
The 13 moon calendar system is not something I created. It is a system that has been used by many people for thousands of years. Sadly, we have gotten away from what is natural in so many ways. Every conscious choice we can make that is in alignment with nature takes us closer to inner and world peace. Using a 13 moon calendar is a step towards truth, peace, and harmony.
Each calendar has two pages explaining a little about the 13 moon calendar system, and since I am selling these at 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace events, it says a little about so wabi sabi. The size is 4.25in x 11.5in and the pages are bound with a small piece of bamboo twine. Each calendar is $13 and will come gift-wrapped.
The money that I raise selling the 13 moon calendars will help me continue my peace walk and work with the 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace. I greatly appreciate your support!

piece together peace...october intention
If you haven't heard about the project we have going on over at threading light, I hope you will take a look. For the next 13 months, we are joining together to set a monthly peace intention for our personal lives. Then at the end of each of those months we'll come back to report how it went, any challenges we encountered, and any positive results we experienced.
It really boils down to being the peace we wish to see in the world and making it real personal. In my mind, we cannot expect world peace to happen because a group of leaders decide to get together and sign some treaties. If we want peace to prevail, and we ALL do (especially those who are so afraid they work against peace), we have to start right at home. Home is where the heart is. How do we create more peace in our heart? What does it look like? Where do we begin? We start with the changes we can make today. Being peace today. Being the change we can be today.
So for my October peace intention, I plan to talk to 'strangers' more. I know this may not seem like a big leap for many of you, but I have found myself taking on a belief of isolation and really creating that reality by not reaching out to those I feel are different from me. So over the next month, I plan to say hello to people I don't know and especially those who I feel are different from me and attempt to engage them in conversation.
I will have a great opportunity because I will be travelling a lot over the next month....more on that later.
So pop over to threading light, read about the project, and join our tapestry of peacemaking mamas!
Love, blessings, and peace~
