week in snapshots

1. winter is impatient, 2. nature goodies, 3. snow canopy, 4. big spider, 5. wisteria covered snow, 6. snow on the pumpkin, 7. jude's idea of a big smile, 8. yellow caterpillar on a maple leaf, 9. snow in october

It's hard to believe that within a week, we've had snow, our first hard frost, and a high of 70F in that order. If you didn't see our snow flower fairy, check her out. Because of the snow I feel so far behind on garden/yard chores, but there is time. We still have kale, mustard, and swiss chard in the garden. But our first hard freeze was this morning. Even though we were below freezing at the end of last week, the snow protected everything. Odd....I figure I may never experience making a snow flower fairy again in my I'm glad we had the opportunity to do it.

This we travel to Providence, RI for a Fine Furniture Show. I plan to have one more post before we go and will return early next week. Hope autumn is still full of glory for you!

  1. Sounds like Michigan weather! No snow here yet though.

Have fun in providence! A dear friend of mine is in her 1st semester at RISD.

  2. Such beautiful photos Elizabeth, you always have such a creative eye!
I love the snowy covered pumpkin : ) Enjoy your time in RI

  3. This is gorgeous. All of your photos just always make my day.

  4. I adore the snow fairie!!! And - WOW - you had greens still in your garden! I freeze spinach and swiss chard for baking/soups...if yours freezes or such!

  5. My goodness, you certainly weren't kidding about the snow, Elizabeth. Here in southeastern PA, we got away with just a few flakes. I loved the shots of your snow flower fairy!

  6. Love the name of your blog! Trying to practice exactly that in my daily life! The snow fairy made me smile! We live in the pnw and tonight's forecast in calling for the first significant snow in the mountains:) Lovely blog!
